"O you who have believed, be persistently standing firm in justice, witnesses for Allah, even if it be against yourselves or parents and relatives." (Surah An-Nisa, 4:135)
"Establish prayer at the decline of the sun [from its meridian] until the darkness of the night and [also] the Qur'an at dawn. Indeed, the recitation of dawn is ever witnessed."
(Surah Al-Isra, 17:78)
"Guard strictly [the five obligatory] prayers, especially the middle prayer. And stand before Allah with devotion."
(Surah Al-Baqarah, 2:238)
The belief that “There is no god but Allah (SWT), and Prophet Muhammad (SW) is the Messenger of Allah” is central to Islam.
Muslims pray facing Mecca five times a day: at dawn, noon, mid-afternoon, sunset, and after dark. Prayer includes a recitation of a Sura from the Qur’an
In accordance with Islamic law, Muslims donate a fixed portion of their income every year to community members in need.
During the daylight hours of Ramadan, all healthy adult Muslims are required to abstain from food and drink. Through this, they renew their awareness of and gratitude for everything Allah has provided in their lives.
Every Muslim whose health and finances permit it must make at least one visit to the holy city of Mecca, in present-day Saudi Arabia.
